Lithium Extraction from Salt Lake Brine with High Mass Ratio of Mg/Li Using TBP-DIBK Extraction System

Lithium extraction from salt lake brine with a high mass ratio of Mg/Li by counter-current method using TBP-DIBK system was investigated in this study. In the process, TBP and DIBK acted as extractant, kerosene used diluent, FeCl3 co-extractant. The operation conditions extraction, scrubbing, stripping, regeneration were investigated. study, 5.5 mol/L LiCl + 0.5 HCl scrubbing solution for purifying products, 6 stripping agent to transfer Li+ organic phase aqueous phase. Furthermore, 2 NaOH saturated MgCl2 remove H+ experiments 3-1-1-3 stages carried out. After 10 cycles, lithium efficiency reached 99.90%; separation factor Li/Mg, Li/K, Li/Na, Li/Ca 5.215 × 104, 2.159 103, 3.659 102, 3.104 respectively. results indicated that effective at extracting Mg/Li. study thermodynamics suggested an exothermic process lower temperature promoted extraction.
